Introduction-to-Linux course(s)




We offer two types of courses for those new or nearly-new to using Linux machines.

Type 1 course:

We offer a course for the Linux beginner. We introduce Linux from the three most popular distributions and in the most modern releases. An illustration of the elements of this course is given in the graphic below.

The course is normally run over a long day (4 sessions). The major topics include: Bundled with course: Each student receives a pack of downloaded latest versions of SuSE-Linux/Fedora Linux/Mandrake Linux and appropriate liveCDROMS plus a set of high-quality seminar notes. Type 2 Introductory Linux with OpenOffice

We offer the introductory-course described above with a full Open-Office course bolted on. This course is normally run over 3 days (12 sessions). It is ideal for companies/organisations who want to migrate to Linux/OpenOffice. It is designed for office administrators who are going to train others within their organisations to move to StarOffice/OpenOffice or OpenOffice/Linux.

Bundled with course: We offer one box of the current version of the professional -edition of SuSE Linux or prosuite-edition of Mandrake Linux or the 'negotiable' (meaning what-we-can-get reasonably-priced) edition of Redhat Linux to each student. One-for-multiple students or (its converse) multiples-at-reduced rates are also offered.
